A graduate of Siena College, Loundonville, NY, Dr. Messina earned a medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, NY and completed his residency at North Shore University Hospital-NYU School of Medicine, Manhasset, NY. He then pursued a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Healthcare Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA while practicing as a hospitalist. He has also completed Lean Six Sigma Champions Training.
Dr. Messina is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a Vanguard member of the American College of Physician Executives, member of the American Medical Association, Society of Hospital Medicine, and American College of Healthcare Executives.
